Why learn about UX design?

With great design comes great responsibility. User experience (UX) design isn’t just about creating pretty or functioning websites - it’s about creative solutioning and trying to make people’s lives and experiences better.

As designers, we need to remember that we aren’t designing products for ourselves, but for other people. Being a UX designer allows you to work with and problem solve for a variety of different people, and empathy plays a huge part in this.

During this collaborative learning experience, we’ll explore the difference between UI and UX, and how they work together. We’ll walk through the design cycle; including discovery, user testing, and user personas. Learners will also have a chance to experience different UX methods through hands-on exercises, including building physical and digital prototypes.

Manitoba Rural Women's Day - October 19 and November 2, 2019

 Women’s Success Stories.

Not the stories about a woman with 5 children, a leadership job or politician. But the life experiences of women who lost their husband and took over the management of the farm, immigrated and built up a Canadian life, were addicted and came out of it.

We all have odds against us, but how did these women cope with it, and what can we learn from it?

Manitoba Rural Women’s Day is a day for women; to learn and laugh and make new connections. Manitoba Women’s Institute is the host of this day. There will be a gathering in the East in Oak Bluff on October 19th and a West event in Brandon on November 2nd. Every women or girl is welcome.

It is necessary to register in advance as there is lunch provided for a cost of $25. The day includes speakers, door prizes and display tables to learn more about the topic.

Annotation 2019 06 13 121144

Global Knowledge delivers what technology and business process can’t—skills.
Whether you realize it or not, skills are the key limiter to your success.

Technology and process are crucial for accomplishing organizational objectives, but they’ve been democratized by the digital revolution. The larger issue are the skill gaps hijacking your technology return on investments. As a result, organizations who are successfully using technology to accelerate success are also successfully transforming the capabilities of their people to maximize investments.
