National Digital Economy Consultations
The Federal Government has released its consultation document for the formulation of a Digital Economy Strategy, to be completed by the Fall of 2010. The process entails a series of roundtable consultations and an invitation for public submissions on the various issues relating to a Digital Economy Strategy.
The document can be downloaded using this link: Improving Canada’s Digital Advantage: Strategies for Sustainable Prosperity.
The focus will be in the following areas: * Innovation Using Digital Technologies * Digital Infrastructure * Growing the ICT Industry * Canada's Digital Content * Building Digital Skills * Improving Canada's Digital Advantage
This is a national strategy, and it is important that Manitoba ICT companies let their opinions be heard. There are three ways you can participate.

by June 25th and I will combine them in our industry statement.
2. You can visit the Digital Economy Consultation website to post your comments directly to the Federal Government by July 9th.
3. All of the above.
There is a sense of urgency to complete the process within a short timeframe and get on with a plan for implementation. Deadline for submissions to ICTAM is June 25th, 2010.
I urge all members of ICTAM and Manitoba ICT Community to participate in this process to ensure our concerns and priorities are included.
Sincerely,
Kathy Knight Executive Director ICTAM T: 204.943.7133 E:
